1. How do I apply for the Erasmus exchange program? The Erasmus application process is organized by our university on an annual basis. Check the Erasmus Academic Calendar for the application deadline. Announcements are published both on the main page and on the Erasmus Coordination Department web page. Our students are welcome to make their applications within this period. 2. Is it possible to attend any university in Europe as an Erasmus student? No, your department/school/institute must have a Bilateral Agreement corresponding to the program or department you are attending. You can check the Agreement Table to see if there is any bilateral agreement corresponding to the program or department you are attending, if any, you can learn which country/university is available. However, if you want to participate in Erasmus Traineeship Program, a Bilateral Agreement is a must. 3. How long may I stay abroad as part of the Erasmus Program? The duration of student mobility in the Erasmus+ program varies between a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. 4. What is a bilateral agreement? An agreement under which two universities commit to sending exchange students (young people, undergraduate, postgraduate, master's, doctoral) and/or academic staff for one or more years under the Erasmus+ program. 5. As an Erasmus student, may I enroll at a university that does not have a bilateral agreement with my department but with my university? No. In practice, Erasmus+ students are only eligible to attend universities that have an agreement with their department. 6. What is a Learning Agreement? The Learning Agreement is a document that shows the courses and credits as well as the courses you will take at the university you will attend. 7. I receive a student loan from Credit and Dormitories General Directorate. Do I lose student loans once I am accepted to the Erasmus+ Program? No, your student loan won't be canceled. Students benefiting from the Erasmus+ program shall not receive any scholarship/credit from another institution. 8. Do I have to pay a fee to participate in the Erasmus+ program? No. The Erasmus+ program is free of charge. 9. Do I have to organize passport and visa procedures myself? Yes. Passport and visa procedures shall be under your own responsibility. The Erasmus Coordinatorship will only provide you with one document to help you obtain your visa. 10. Who can apply to KTO Karatay University as an international student? Those of foreign nationality Persons who are Turkish citizens by birth and have been granted permission to renounce their Turkish nationality by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and their minor children who are registered in a certificate of renunciation of Turkish nationality and documented by a certificate of exercise of rights recognized by the Turkish nationality. Foreign nationals who have acquired Turkish citizenship and dual nationals in this situation. Turkish nationals who completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country except for the Republic of Cyprus Those who are of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus nationality, residing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and who have completed their secondary education in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and have GCE AL exam results, and those who have or will have GCE AL exam results by enrolling and studying in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 may apply. 11. Is it possible for international students to get a scholarship? In addition to the scholarships offered by your home country, international students can participate in the Scholarship Exam for International Students organized by KTO Karatay University to receive a scholarship of 100%, 50%, or 25% depending on the number of credits obtained.
