Karatay University School of Foreign Languages (KTO) includes both English Translation and Interpreting and Arabic Translation and Interpreting departments. All throughout their studies, we ensure that our students are equipped with the necessary academic knowledge in their fields of specialization and that they are fully prepared for their work life. Moreover, the faculties and colleges within the structure of our university provide preparatory classes as per the specific levels and objectives. Advanced and professional English courses are also organized under the responsibility of our university. In keeping with the multilingual teaching policy of our university, 8 foreign languages, namely Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Russian and Persian, are available as optional courses for our students. Here at our university, we are committed to enabling our students to study two foreign languages at a level that will allow them to successfully navigate through their academic studies during their degree and subsequently pursue international scientific publications. We also intend to provide them with the appropriate educational background to further improve the languages they have learned after graduation. In continuing to push forward with our academic agenda, our institution also strives to produce the resources necessary to deliver the courses. Just Write, the book for the Writing Skills course in our English Language Preparation program, was made available to our students during the 2017-2018 academic year. Furthermore, in 2018 we published a book entitled Progress English at A1 level authored by our instructors. The translation lab is a state-of-the-art university building where our students have the privilege of putting into practice the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in class. The school of foreign languages, where theory and practice are co-educated, produces specialists who provide language services on an international level.
