The Rector of Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç, released a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic Day, celebrated on October 29th. Professor Dr. Fevzi Rıfat Ortaç, the Rector of KTO Karatay University, highlighted the following in his congratulatory message: 'Our Republic, declared by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on October 29, 1923, after the triumphant conclusion of the independence torch lit on May 19, 1919, stands as 'The most suitable administration for the character and customs of the Turkish nation is the Republican administration,' is the greatest legacy bequeathed to us by our ancestors. The Republic immortalizes the existential struggle of our nation, marked by unity, determination, sacrifice, and tremendous heroism.' Our nation: young, old, women, men as a whole, under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his comrades-in-arms, has declared to the whole world that even in challenging circumstances and absence, the will of the Turkish nation shall never be restrained. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, founded by a respected generation through considerable struggles and passed down to us, intricately intertwined with our ancient state tradition, we feel a sense of pride, joy, and enthusiasm. As we mark the centenary of our Republic, we look to the future with great optimism, propelled by the strength derived from our history, and stride confidently forward. As we approach the 100th anniversary of our Republic, our first duty is to cherish the sacred memories of our heroes who bequeathed to us a homeland adorned with the echo of our calls to prayer and our national flag, a country where we can live freely. With the words of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, "We founded the Republic; you are the ones who will keep it alive and improve it," we are committed to raising young people who love their nation and freedom, and who are dedicated to national and spiritual values. On this important and meaningful day, I extend my remembrance with reverence to the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and, in tribute, to the cherished martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the eternal independence of our nation. I express gratitude to our heroic veterans. May the 100th anniversary of our Republic be blessed."
