Professor Ortaç stated, ‘At KTO Karatay University, promoting eco-friendly practices and striving for a sustainable future are among our priorities. The results we achieved in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023 report are indicative of the success of our efforts in this direction. With the Solar Energy Plant Project implemented on our campus, we cover approximately 10% of our university's annual electricity consumption from renewable energy sources. Through this project, we generate 312 kw of electricity annually with about 780 solar panels on our campus. Additionally, within the 'Zero Waste Project,' we separate and recycle waste by types, earning us the 'Zero Waste Certificate' from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, placing us among the few universities in Turkey with this certification. Seeing the positive impact of all these efforts is a source of great pride for us. I extend my gratitude to all the academics, administrative staff, and students who have contributed to our university's successful rise. We will continue to progress confidently towards our goal of being among the esteemed, sustainable, and environmentally friendly universities worldwide.
