Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University achieved great success in the "2024 Accessibility University Awards" given by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). With 6 different faculties, 1 school, and 1 technical school, the university received a total of 5 Orange Flag Awards, ranking 7th among all universities in Turkey. The "2024 Accessible University Awards" which evaluate efforts to create an inclusive ecosystem at universities, have been announced. KTO Karatay University has once again certified its determination and achievements in accessible education by winning five awards. At KTO Karatay University, 6 Faculties, 1 School of Higher Education, and 1 Technical School of Higher Education Received Awards KTO Karatay University, once again exhibiting its leadership and committed efforts in the field of accessible education, received the Orange Flag Awards. The award-winning faculties include the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, School of Foreign Languages, and Technical School of Health Services, all located on the central campus. KTO Karatay University Won Five Orange Flag Awards This year, the Barrier-Free University Awards, with a total of 1,709 applications from 112 universities, were given to 76 universities that carried out the most successful efforts in areas such as minimizing the obstacles faced by students with disabilities in daily life, ensuring accessibility in spaces, and facilitating easy access to educational opportunities. Among these flags, 228 were "orange flags," 55 were "green flags" for accessibility in education, and 36 were "blue flags" for accessibility in sociocultural activities. KTO Karatay University received five Orange Flag Awards in the "Accessibility in Spaces" category due to its careful efforts in ensuring the regular maintenance and availability of accessible paths, ramps, and elevators for disabled individuals, facilitating easy access to all buildings for disabled students, adapting classrooms and laboratories to meet the needs of disabled individuals, and implementing numerous projects.
