2022 - PROF. DR. FEVZİ RİFAT ORTAÇ: Born in 1960, Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Konya. He graduated from Gazi University / Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences / Department of Finance in 1984. In 1986, he completed his master's degree at Gazi University, Department of Finance with a thesis on "Privacy and Prohibitions in Turkish Tax Law". He started to work as a research assistant at Gazi University, Department of Finance in 1986. In 1990, he was awarded the title of doctor with his thesis “Taxpayers Responsibility In Turkish Tax Law”. He served as Assistant Professor between the years of 1991-1997 and Associate Professor from 1998 to 2004 at Gazi University. He was appointed as a professor at Gazi University / Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences / Department of Finance in 2004. In addition to his academic studies, he held different executive positions such as Manager of Social Sciences Institute and Head of Finance Department in Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty at Gazi University between the years of 1994 and 2012. Between 2013-2019, he fulfilled various administrative roles at different foundation universities under the titles of Vice-Chancellor, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dean, Institute Manager, Member of the University Administrative Committee, Member of the University Senate, and Head of Department. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç was assigned as the Rector of KTO Karatay University as of March 2022. 2015 - 2022 Prof. Dr. Bayram SADE: Prof. Dr. Bayram Sade was born in 1962 in Karapınar district of Konya. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Atatürk University in 1984. He completed his master's degree at Selçuk University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops with a thesis on "Researches on Important Agricultural Characters of Some Hybrid Corn Varieties under Irrigated Conditions in Çumra District” and continued his doctoral studies in the same department in the very same year. He was awarded the title of doctor in 1991 with his thesis on "The Effect of Different Irrigation Levels and Nitrogen Doses on Grain Yield, Quality Characteristics, Harvest Index, Yield Performance of Two Durum Wheat Varieties (Triticum durum Desf.)”. Prof. Dr. Bayram Sade, who has been a faculty member at Selçuk University for several years, has also served as a member of TÜBİTAK KAMAG Group Executive Committee, Rector Advisor at Selçuk University, Advisor to KOP Regional Development Administration, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Teknokent, Project Manager of Selçuk Technology Transfer Office within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1513 Technology Transfer Offices Support Programme. In May 2015, Prof. Dr. Bayram Sade was appointed as the Rector of KTO Karatay University and held this position for approximately seven years. In March 2022, he resigned from his position. 2012 – 2015 Prof. Dr. Ömer TORLAK: He was born in Istanbul in 1961. He graduated from Pertevniyal High School in 1978. He completed his undergraduate study at Istanbul University, School of Business in 1982. He obtained his master's degree from Istanbul University, Department of Marketing in 1984 and his doctorate in 1991. From 1986 until 1996, he pursued his career in the private sector. He first started his academic career as an assistant professor at Kırıkkale University, Department of Business Administration in 1996. He was appointed as an assistant professor in 1999 and subsequently became an associate professor in 2002 and a professor in 2007 at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Torlak has published a number of articles, papers, books and book chapters on national and international marketing strategies, consumer behaviour, marketing ethics and marketing history. He served as the Dean of Çankırı Karatekin University between 2009-2011 and as the Dean of Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty at Eskişehir Osmangazi University between 2011-2012. In 2012, he was assigned as the Rector of KTO Karatay University and continued his duty until March 2015. He was later named as the Chairman of the Competition Authority by the Cabinet of Ministers in 2015 and fulfilled this duty. In 2023, he was appointed as Acting Rector of Istanbul Ticaret University. He is married with 3 children. 2009 – 2012 Prof. Dr. Mehmet BABAOĞLU: He was born in Konya in 1965. He graduated from Doğanhisar İmam-Hatip High School. He majored in Field Crops at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture. He completed his master's degree at Selçuk University Institute of Sciences and his PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology at Nottingham University, UK. He was awarded the titles of associate professor and professor at Selçuk University, Faculty of Agriculture. He involved in numerous academic projects in Türkiye and abroad including publications, congresses, book authorship and conferences. He was the Founding Rector of KTO Karatay University and the Founding President of Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration under the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Coordinated the preparation of KOP Action Plan. He took part in the 26th term of TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Türkiye) as Konya Deputy. Babaoğlu, who speaks fluent English, intermediate Arabic and German, is married with 4 children.
