Selçuk ÖZTÜRK Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Konya Chamber of Commerce Karatay University Konya; throughout history, besides being the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk State, it has also been a center of knowledge and culture. In this respect, Konya holds unique importance and value for Turkish history, possessing an unparalleled cultural heritage. One of the culture heritage undoubtedly is Karatay Madrasa, established by Emir Celaleddin Karatay in 1251 and educated numerous science-person. Taking its name from the Karatay Madrasa, which is the first Foundation Higher Education Institution in Anatolia, KTO Karatay University started its educational life as the first foundation university of Konya in 2009 by the Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Education and Health Foundation. Today, KTO Karatay University, which has 6 faculties, 2 colleges, 3 vocational schools, 1 institute and research centers in various fields, is one of the most equipped foundation universities in Turkey with its elements located in the Central Campus, Pilot Training Campus and Konya Chamber of Commerce Technology and Education Campus. KTO Karatay University, which hosts 600 international students from 65 countries, has a multicultural campus. The human structure that KTO Karatay draws its strength from is composed of 8,500 students, 400 academicians, and 300 administrative staff members. KTO Karatay University educates young individuals who expand the boundaries of knowledge, embrace ideals, stand firmly on the ground, believe in achieving success through hard work, take ownership of their past, respond to the needs of the times, and have a vision for the future. One of the strongest non-governmental organizations in our country, the Konya Chamber of Commerce and its subsidiaries, will continue to be the biggest supporter of KTO Karatay University on its journey.
