Weekly Detailed Course Contents Week Topics 1 Recognizing the types of interpreting according to their form and subject (contact translation, bilateral interview translation, accompanying translation, whispered translation, video-conference translation, court interpreting, sports interpreting... 2 Continuation of the first week topics. Examining and exemplifying the difference and types of 'interpretation' and 'translation'. 3 Understanding the importance of speaking skill and developing it with exercises; enabling each student to speak on a variety of topics. ”what makes a good interpreter?” and watching “Interpreting process” videos. 4 Continuing student conversations. Turkish paraphrase exercises: Re-expressing a Turkish speech listened to in Turkish as a successor. 5 Continuation of individual conversations. Continuation of speech transfer exercises from Turkish to Turkish. Preparation for consecutive translation. 6 Making English speeches similar to the Turkish speeches made in the previous week and paraphrasing them again in English. 7 Continuation of English to English paraphrase studies and examining the results in class.
