Social work is a profession and field of study that aims to enhance the social welfare of individuals, families, groups, and communities, working in accordance with the principles of human rights and social justice. Social work specialists develop various methods and intervention strategies to help individuals and communities solve their problems, empower themselves, and lead healthier lives. As the Department of Social Work, we adopt an educational approach that respects human rights, upholds social justice, and aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals, in line with the goals of our profession. Through the courses, activities, projects, and initiatives we carry out with our students, we strive to contribute to the dynamics that will build a life worthy of human dignity in our society. Additionally, developing strategies to solve the social problems of society and contributing to solutions that will support every individual in realizing their potential are among the core missions of our department.

Our educational program aims to equip our students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical experience, preparing them to become sensitive and responsible social work professionals. Our academic staff consists of expert and experienced faculty members who provide support to our students both academically and professionally. We offer supervision support to our students, allowing them to experience practical examples in various fields of our profession, such as child, women, and elderly welfare, migration, forensic social work, and healthcare.

Our department, which offers an educational curriculum in line with national and international social work education standards, has faculty members who carry out studies at national and regional levels in areas such as migration, addiction, combating violence, disability, and child welfare. Our department plays an active role in accreditation processes and in national efforts related to social work education. Thus, through its efforts to ensure that educational and teaching processes progress in a transparent, measurable, concrete, and systematic manner, it is one of the leading departments shaping social work education.

In today's world, the importance of the social work profession is steadily increasing, and the role of social work professionals in solving social problems is critical. With all my best wishes to my future colleagues who carry this responsibility and are aware of the mission of our profession.
