Objectives : To enable students to make sense of the social environment they live in on the basis of social differences and to provide students with the sociological perspective that a social worker should have on issues such as components of social structure and social change.
Content : Concepts of social science and sociology; sociological thinking; the founders of sociology; contemporary thinkers who contributed to the development of sociology; social stratification, class structure and social inequalities; forms of social control; social change, development and disintegration, social role and status; modern society - post-modern society features, economy and business life under the influence of current trends and developments, basic social institutions such as family and marriage, kinship, education, by evaluating them in a broader whole.
