Dear Students, Sociology is a subject that you become increasingly fascinated with as you study it through research and understand what's happening in society, and in time it becomes a passion. In our country, the importance of sociology has increased considerably in recent years and all attention has turned to sociological studies. KTO Karatay University Sociology Department is committed to bringing a unique perspective and meaning to the sociological understanding. Our Sociology Department students graduate as individuals who read, research, question, and have the ability to report their findings. Especially, it is very crucial for our students to be familiar with health, social work, education, and training as well as non-governmental organizations in order to be able to work as sociologists in these organizations. Our department runs academic programs on economics, religion, politics, education, social policy, urban economics, immigration, gender, children, families, poverty, social media, literature, film, sport, food and drink culture, and other similar topics. Our students studying in this field have the opportunity to present papers while they are still students. With the double major program (DMP) opportunity, which is valid in many departments, our students are able to graduate with two diplomas. In order to be a great sociologist, it is not only important to be a successful student but also to be a disciplined, patient, passionate, and critical thinker. Considering the contribution sociology offers to society, don't give up on the idea of contributing to social change and human capital through future research.
