Dear Students,

The development of historical knowledge will contribute significantly to enlightening our society in all areas of activity in the future. Because understanding the present day is only possible with a good grasp of history. In our department, future historians are trained with a scientific approach to creating an interdisciplinary infrastructure. Our department has adopted a high-quality educational approach aimed at producing researchers and original historians who are familiar with the problems and accumulations of modern historiography, embrace national values, and have the capacity to evaluate their country's history from the perspective of world history.

Our students have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our academics outside of class hours and collaborate with them. Students will also have the opportunity to meet host scientists from Türkiye and abroad to hear stories and see events from different perspectives. Students are able to gain international experience by studying in an EU country for at least one semester as part of an Erasmus exchange program.

Our graduates can be employed in public and private sector institutions and organizations that conduct research and investigation on historical issues. If our students with the necessary qualifications including being proficient in Ottoman Turkish can also work as a 'recorder' or 'filing clerk' in the tourism, public relations, and consultancy sectors. They may also find job opportunities in organizations that have to keep old documents such as land registry offices, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, courthouses, and institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate of State Archives, and the General Directorate of Foundations.

Wishing success in their education and professional lives to our students, the historians of the future, who receive education in Konya, the ancient capital of the Seljuks, in places that have witnessed history.
