Objectives : To improve the ability of physiotherapy students to solve patient specific problems by providing information about orthotics, indications, applications, and modifications, and teaching the possible complications of orthosis practices, and planning and implementing appropriate treatment programs that will increase the effectiveness of orthotics and rehabilitation.
Content : The technical and biomechanical control of the orthosis, the pathomechanical conditions to be used orthosis, the aims of the orthoses, the materials and technology used, the upper and lower extremity orthoses and rehabilitation, trunk orthoses and rehabilitation, solutions and solutions for problems and complications.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Determines the orthosis need and decides the orthosis. Plan and evaluate the necessary evaluations before and after the application in patients with an orthosis indication
2 Gives the necessary advice during the use of the orthosis, grasps the importance and system of monitoring the patient for a long time. Plans and implements a treatment program that will increase the effectiveness of the orthosis.

2 Foot pathomas, common deformities (pesplanus, hallux valgus, low foot / joint, pesekinovarus, limb shortness, fractures, etc.)
3 Basic principles in foot orthosis, Appropriate footwear, knowledge of materials used in orthoses
4 Common pathologies of foot and ankle, orthosis practices, use, control and treatment methods Student presentations: Foot orthoses used in special situations
5 Orthotopic approach in the mechanical and traumatic pathologies of the knee Clinical features of the congenital hip dislocation, symptoms and treatment of orthosis
6 Indications of long walking orthoses, common orthosis practices, elimination of problems, Special Mobility Orthoses

8 Spinal region pathologies, classification, clinical features, spinal orthosis principles Common pathologies and orthotic approaches in the neck
9 Spinal deformity orthoses (scoliosis, kyphosis, increase and decrease of lordosis etc.)
10 Spinal pathology orthoses (vertebral fractures, intramedullary trauma, instabilites, etc.)
11 Basic concepts, principles and methods in Elin splinting. Classification of spints, properties that dynamic splints must carry
12 Orthosis of common hand pathologies (rheumatoid hand, peripheral nerve injuries, flexor / extender tendon injuries, spastic hand, cumulative tar, congenital deformities, digital deformities, etc.)
13 Elbow pathologies and orthosis (contractures, tennis / levator elbow, instabilites, pronation / supination problems)
14 Shoulder pathologies and orthosis (clavicular and humerus fractures, shoulder subluxations, brachial plexus lesions, postural defects)
